Emma Peterson

Biologist/Agrologist

Emma is an Articling Agrologist originally from Dawson Creek, BC, with a strong foundation in terrestrial ecology and botany – and a knack for blending careful science with curiosity and creativity. With experience in both field and lab research, Emma brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to environmental work, along with a genuine excitement for learning, growing, and building new skills.

Emma has supported biodiversity surveys in remote BC provincial parks, collecting and identifying species, and has also worked as a lab research assistant focused on mycorrhizal fungi and orchid research, including DNA extraction and culture maintenance. More recently, she’s worked as a Discover Parks Ambassador, creating and delivering educational programming in provincial parks and helping connect the public with the science and stories behind BC’s protected areas.

Outside of work, Emma is a poetry-and-films enthusiast who loves spending weekends hiking, swimming, crafting, or catching a movie – and she also collects tiny decorative plates (which is both adorable and oddly iconic).
